Golf: Rise Of The Youngsters😎

Over the past five years, golf has been dominated by youngsters. Rory McIlroy and Jordan Speith are the best known ones. This year at the British Open, Paul Dunne (an Irish amateur golfer) showed off serious talent by going into the final day in the lead. Sadly he couldn’t maintain that lead and ended up losing.   Zach Johnson ultimately won.But earlier this year, Jordan Speith — somebody that I didn’t even know about until the Masters this year — ended up winning two Majors, the Masters and the U.S. Open.

It is a proven fact that since the 1960’s the average age for a winner of a major has been 31. But over the past 5 years the average age for a Major winner has been 24. What does this mean? To me it means that the youngsters are starting to take charge of Golf. Tiger Woods has been the big story in Golf for many years but now he seems to have faded away. Personally, I think that it is good that the youngsters are starting to rise because they are giving us a glimpse of we might see in the future.
