Baseball — World Series Hanging in the Balance

As you know the Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs are both in the World Series and are both trying to end long long World Series droughts. The Chicago Cubs who are down 2-1 in the best of 7 series have transitioned from being the best regular season team to a team that struggles to score runs. They have Kris Bryant who is an MVP candidate and former rookie of the year and Anthony Rizzo who batted in 109 runs and is a former MVP. However it has been the rookie Javier Baez who has been carrying the the Cubs offensively. Baez who hit .274 during the regular season is has 17 postseason hits which is unbelievable. Baez was the joint MVP winner in the NLCS or National League Championship Series and has 3 hits in the World Series in 3 games. The Cubs have pitched well throughout the postseason although it isn’t turning into wins because of their lack of offence. On the flip side of things you have the Indians, a team that won only 94 games during the regular season and have a very average team aside from the most dominant reliever in the game in Andrew Miller. There is no logic to point out how the Indians even made the playoffs let alone have a 2-1 lead over the best team in baseball. If you look up and down the Indians roster you don’t see anything amazing. So it is a must win for the Cubs and Baez and it would be great if the Indians win as that gives them a 3-1 lead meaning that the Cubs would have to win 3 games in a row against a team who didn’t lose 3 games in a row the whole season.

  1. The reason you don’t see anything amazing on the Indians team is because the Indians are the best TEAM this season. Every lsingle player has made a major play when it was needed. There is really no one superstar. All players on the Indians team are superstars at just the right time!
