Soccer:    De Gea Denied

When the transfer window closed at 11 pm two days ago, it was announced that David De Gea would not be going to Real Madrid because the transfer papers did not arrive on time. Real Madrid and De Gea are devastated that the transfer did not take place.  Now, since United bought Sergio Romero (the goalkeeper for Argentina), because they thought that De Gea would be at Real Madrid,  De Gea might not start. I feel really sorry for De Gea since now he might not be able to put his talent to use.

Real Madrid claim that the transfer papers actually arrived one minute before the deadline but in truth the papers arrived 1 minute after the deadline. De Gea is a great goalkeeper and it is a shame that he may not be able to play on a regular basis this year. De Gea is truly a Beast of Sport.

Equestrian:  D-BOS Goes to Pony Camp

Hi there Sports People!

This summer I spent two weeks at Pony Camp at MPM Equestrian in Rathvilly, Ireland.  Check out my video here:

Riding is an awesome sport and you get to learn lots of things about animals. I really love riding because you can go really fast and you feel free and powerful.

Tennis:  Murray is Untouchable

Yesterday Andy Murray defeated Richard Gasquet in an exhilarating match. Gasquet dominated Murray in the first set but Andy would then go into shut down mode winning the final two sets of the match. Momentum is crucial since they are heading into the U.S. Open and that is certainly what Murray has. It is also worth mentioning that Murray is on a win streak. This win streak has brought Murray up to the top of the wins category this year meaning that he has more wins than any other player in the game of Tennis right now. He is ranked number two in the world behind the great Novak Djokovic. I think that Murray is a gifted player and definitely has the potential to become the best player in Tennis in the next three years. In other words Andy Murray is definitely a Beast of Sport.

Soccer: Premier League Top Four Predictions

Even though most years the Premier League is hard to predict I am guessing that this year the top four will be quite predictable. After a rough start the last two seasons Manchester United beat Spurs on opening day. They played inspiring football and they would be my bet to come third this year. Chelsea, I think, will come second this year because in the first game of the season they looked a little full of themselves and had an attitude like we’re going to crush Swansea, which didn’t happen cause Swansea played their hearts out and forced a draw. West Ham are really in need of a break out year and this year might be their year as they came out of the gates strong defeating Arsenal in a beautiful performance. They would be my bet for 4th place. Finally I think Manchester City will win the title. Just because I am a Man City fan doesn’t mean that I’m being unfair. City really played well and kept a lot of the ball as they beat West Brom 3-0. Last Year even though they disappointed in a lot of games they still came second in the League. To me that is the sign of a true team of champions. So just to recap my top four predictions look like this:

1. Manchester City

2. Chelsea

3. Man United

4. West Ham

Soccer:    Premier League Is Back!

After a long break from May to August the Barclays Premier League is starting again! Opening day was yesterday and here are some results. Man U beat Spurs 1-0 after a Kyle Walker own goal; Everton drew with Watford 2-2; Chelsea (the defending Champions) drew 2-2 with Swansea; Crystal Palace beat Norwich 3-1; Leicester City beat Sunderland 4-2; and finally Bournemouth lost to Aston Villa 1-0. The Barclays Premier League is such a great league because anybody could win it at any time. So each new year brings hope to every team in the Premiership from Bournemouth to Manchester City. The excitement that the Barclays Premier League brings to houses in England is really good and I think that this year will be another interesting race for the title. Good luck to everybody!

Soccer:  Wenger Snaps Streak

As you know, Arsene Wenger is an excellent manager but he did have one blip until last Sunday. He had never defeated Jose Mourinho. Wenger had not beaten Mourinho until The Community Shield on Sunday. The Community Shield is when the winner of the Premier League plays the winner of the FA Cup. This year, Chelsea and Arsenal faced off in a heavyweight showdown that was highly anticipated. It was an excellent game but in the end Alex Oxlade Chamberlin’s goal managed to snap Wenger’s losing streak against Mourinho.
It was by no means a convincing win as the final score was only 1-0. It must be said that Mourinho and Wenger don’t like each other and have had fights in the past. Wenger and Mourinho have made a habit that they do not shake hands after any games they play against each other. I am sure that Wenger feels a bit better after finally beating Mourinho.  For Arsenal fans,  I am sure that they would like Wenger to go on a winning streak against the Special One but I don’t think that’s going to happen because Mourinho is extremely dominant.   But if Wenger did, it would make things interesting especially when Mourinho is looking to defend his title in the 2015/2016 season.

 Golf: Rise Of The Youngsters😎

Over the past five years, golf has been dominated by youngsters. Rory McIlroy and Jordan Speith are the best known ones. This year at the British Open, Paul Dunne (an Irish amateur golfer) showed off serious talent by going into the final day in the lead. Sadly he couldn’t maintain that lead and ended up losing.   Zach Johnson ultimately won.But earlier this year, Jordan Speith — somebody that I didn’t even know about until the Masters this year — ended up winning two Majors, the Masters and the U.S. Open.

It is a proven fact that since the 1960’s the average age for a winner of a major has been 31. But over the past 5 years the average age for a Major winner has been 24. What does this mean? To me it means that the youngsters are starting to take charge of Golf. Tiger Woods has been the big story in Golf for many years but now he seems to have faded away. Personally, I think that it is good that the youngsters are starting to rise because they are giving us a glimpse of we might see in the future.

Soccer:   Sterling With High Hopes at City

Manchester City have signed Raheem Sterling! City put to use the huge amounts of money they have and signed Raheem Sterling for 47 million pounds. The Liverpool striker is a gifted player and City are very excited about signing this eye boggling youngster.

Sterling made his City debut today in a preseason match against Roma and scored his first goal after just three minutes. Last year City were unable to sign any expensive players because the previous year they had gone over the limit on how much money they could spend. This year though, they are free to build a dream squad as the FA have lifted the temporary punishment. Sterling’s agent did take advantage of Manchester City by demanding outrageous amounts of money knowing that City would accept. Both Sterling and City have high hopes for the future as Manchester City look to continue their dynasty.
